Kattam.in is a brand from India which weaves a beautiful interlace of Handloom Sarees, Traditional Temple Jewellery, Vibrant Kundan and Rustic Oxidised Jewellery. Kattam started using the Kai Progress Bar & Free Gift Shopify App in February 2025.

Kattam.in has a 3 tier campaign:
- Tier 1 – Offers a % discount on the order. The discount execution itself is disabled from the Kai Progress bar App and enabled from another app/ Shopify discounts.
- Tier 2 – Offers a lucrative gift nudging their customers to add more to the cart
- Tier 3 – Offers an even more lucrative gift to their customer to go one step further
The setup has a special condition that if a customer reaches and avails the Tier 3 gift then the Gift offered in the previous Tier should be automatically removed from the cart.
Lets dive into the Analysis
The analysis is based on past 1 month data and does not include transactions which were cancelled or returned by the customer.
50% of all transactions done in the last month on the store availed a discount offered from among the 3 discount tiers offered by the Kai Progress bar App.
Total 10% of all transactions reached and availed a Free Gift offered by the store.
The AOV from all transactions with any form of discounting offered from the store (via Kai Progress bar or otherwise) is 23% higher than the overall AOV of the store. AOV from transactions which did not offer any form of discount was -34% of the overall AOV. Discounting definitely boosts and motivates customers to add more to cart!
The AOV from all transactions with only Kai Progress bar App discounts (3 tiers) is 32% higher than the overall AOV of the store. Thereby showing that the progress bar has a high correlation (not necessarily causation) with boosting store AOV even more than usual discounting does.
The transactions (10% of all) with a free gift show a staggering 115% jump in AOV as compared to overall AOV. Which is quite obvious since these gifts are offered at a higher cart value.
